Spring Awakening Camp

CA$135.00

Dates:March 24,25
Location: Good Nature Farm:  2795 Grafton Ave, Qualicum
Age: 8-13 years old
Time: 10 to 3

Awaken to the Magic of Spring at Our Two-Day Immersive Camp!

Join us in celebrating the vibrant renewal of spring with hands-on activities designed to inspire creativity and connection with nature. Together, we’ll:

Day 1 : Discover the Art of Natural Dyeing
Unleash the vibrant colors of spring! Children will learn to craft stunning natural dyes using seasonal treasures and eco-friendly techniques that honor the earth’s bountiful awakening. As part of this hands-on experience, they will create beautiful Organic Cotton Bandanas, transforming simple fabric into unique works of art inspired by nature's vibrant hues.

Day 2: Engage the Senses with Wildcrafting and Herbalism
Discover the island’s vibrant springtime abundance as we craft nourishing teas and remedies from nature’s seasonal gifts, all while practicing sustainable harvesting techniques. Using these spring treasures, we’ll wildcraft a unique project that celebrates the creativity and beauty of the season.

Each day begins with a warm welcome as we gather in a Sharing Circle, setting our intentions and creating space to connect with one another. Together, we’ll observe the magic of spring unfolding around us, sparking curiosity and setting a joyful tone for the day.

The morning invites hands-on exploration, where we’ll dive into crafting vibrant natural dyes from seasonal plants or creating nourishing teas and herbal remedies. These activities foster a deeper connection to the earth and celebrate the abundance of the land.

After a shared lunch, we’ll engage in fun, energetic nature-based games that inspire teamwork, movement, and laughter. In the afternoon, we’ll reflect on our experiences through Nature Journals, capturing the sights, sounds, and beauty of spring with drawings and words. We’ll also have the opportunity to slow down with Sit Spots, practicing quiet observation and tuning into the rhythms of nature.

We close the day with a Gratitude Share, gathering as a community to reflect on our discoveries and celebrate the day’s journey. Every moment is thoughtfully woven together to encourage creativity, connection, and the joy of being immersed in the renewal of nature.

Spaces are limited, allowing us to embrace the season’s magic in an intimate and connected group setting.

““If you’re looking for a once-a-week outdoor adventure, Genevieve is an absolutely incredible spirit with such a depth of knowledge and passion for outdoor learning, and empathy for the little beings in her care. The explorations they do together go so far beyond “nature class”, and include emotional self-awareness, social justice, empathy, compassion, and teamwork. I can’t gush enough about this program Little Knapsack Club “”
— Natalie DeGoey
“I sent both of my daughters to a similar program offered by Genevieve. This program was so special to our family and my girls. Genevieve is an amazing mentor/teacher. She has a wonderful ease with her students and her knowledge and understanding of nature, community and patience with her students is majestic. We adore Genevieve and I wished that we lived closer so that we could benefit from her programs. This one is truly special and if you have a daughter who is wanting to get closer to nature and to learn about sisterhood in a very supportive and inclusive, fun environment with an amazing mentor, then I highly recommend this program with Genevieve ❤️”
